standard hotel, with an enticing blend of original design
and artistic features that include wooden sculpture and
handicraft. Masindi Hotel was built in 1923. After
independence Masindi Hotel was bought by the newly formed
Government and remained a part of the Uganda Hotel chain
for nearly 30 years. In the year 2000, The Masindi Hotel
was privatised, and has undergone major renovations in the
newer (1960's) sections, and restorations are now complete
in the original Colonial style part of the Hotel.
